Seal kit for repairing the Double VANOS system in BMW M52 and M54 engines.
Contents:
- FPM O-rings (2x "small" + 2x "large")
- PTFE+Carbon seals (2x "small" + 2x "large")
- 2x FPM O-rings for the sealing cap
- 2x FPM O-rings for the camshaft position sensor
- 2x FPM O-rings for the solenoid valve
- 4x copper washers for the oil supply line
- 1x copper washer for the chain tensioner
The seals are CNC-machined from superior materials compared to the originals, reducing susceptibility to the adverse effects of oil (especially used oil) and high temperatures. Additionally, they have been redesigned for a better seal and a tighter fit within the piston groove. The seal is approximately 11% taller than competing products, ensuring greater stability and a more secure fit. Precision finishing—particularly of the edges and working surfaces—ensures long-lasting, trouble-free operation.
Please note that simply replacing the seal kit does not guarantee trouble-free VANOS operation; axial play in the piston housings must also be eliminated. This kit is intended for knowledgeable DIY enthusiasts, mechanics, etc. If you require a complete DIY kit, please check my other listings.
